Who’s feeling creative?

by in Features, Sliding Gallery

There have always been creative people in The Salvation Army. Musicians, playwrights, artists and authors. Evangelists who preached from coffins, shoe salesmen with glowing umbrellas – the list goes on. Did you know The Salvation Army ran one of the world’s first movie studios? True story!

What about you? Do you have any artistic talents – photography, drawing, animation? The collage above shows some visual art by young people in The Salvation Army in Canada and Bermuda. Or what about writing, or spoken word? Below we have a poem written by Mikaela – a young Salvationist in the Maritimes.

If you have a creative talent, we’d love to hear from you too!

Send your submission to our office for consideration.

We’ll accept images, written pieces (600 word max) or videos from Salvation Army young people aged 13-25. Include your age, corps, a brief bio & a selfie, and check with us if you have any questions about file size or format.

Who knows, your creative insights might be just what someone needs to see or hear to remind them of what’s important in life :D

Get creating!
