TYI was an amazing week (see post here) as we were led by an amazing faculty; LJanet Munn, Major Stephen Court and Jonathan Evans along with Danielle Strickland leading worship.
We were taught new ways of prayer and ways to engage with God in community, fellowship and solitude. Not only was this week at TYI a time of learning about holiness and knowing more about who Christ is and who we are in Christ, it was also a week of different evangelism opportunities and sharing in the good news of Jesus with other Salvation Army initiatives. On our second day, we went to the local park and assisted the Georgina Salvation Army Corps in an open air meeting. Some of us gave ‘gospel shots’ (a short 60 second scripture and message as to it’s application in your own life), others connected with people on the streets and in the park, and a third team of delegates prayed for people at Prayer Booths. It was a great time, and someone accepted Christ! Later in the week we went to downtown Toronto and got to hear about some amazing things The Salvation Army is doing in Toronto. The stories of the speakers we met at Gateway and at Harbourlight really spiritually influenced many of the delegates. I come away from the experience encouraged and hopeful for a strong Salvation Army future.
