Resolution #3 – Ditch the Porn

by in Action, Features, Sliding Gallery

For 2011 why not make a resolution to ditch the porn in your life. Resist the urge to check out online images & vids. Can we be honest with each other for a minute? Porn messes with the way you view members of the opposite sex… right? It’s all based on fantasy, lust and false-reality. The truth however is that men and women are a gift from God for each other, meant to care for and respect one another in totality – body, mind & spirit. We (STF) are inviting and challenging you for 2011 to live in the real world of true love and respect.

The United Nations defines Human Trafficking as:

“(a) ‘Trafficking in persons’ shall mean the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of persons, by means of the threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation. Exploitation shall include, at a minimum, the exploitation of the prostitution of others or other forms of sexual exploitation…

Lucky for us it doesn’t take a high school grad to figure out that the root cause of sex trafficking is the DEMAND for sexual pleasure no matter what the cost or harm to others. It all relates to how we view others sexually. That’s where porn figures into the issue. Take a stand against sex trafficking by avoiding the industry that helps drive the demand. If there were no demand, there would be no sex trafficking. Make sense? Fighting social injustice isn’t glamorous and sexy. At some point it becomes personal.

  1. get accountability software to monitor your online habits (computer, iPhone/Pad/Touch) – X3 Watch
  2. share your addiction with a trusted source who will walk with you to freedom
  3. disconnect your internet (hey… drastic times require drastic measures!)
  4. blow up your computer (jk… but maybe you should get your folks to password protect login or lock you out of it)
  5. surf with a p.o.s (parent over shoulder!)
