Five key ingredients that must be present and in place for someone to win the battle with pornography. 1. An abhorrence of porn. You have to hate porn itself (not just the shame it brings), and long for change. 2. You must adore God. Why? Because we can be confident that He offers more than porn. 3. You must be assured of God's grace. You are loved by God and are right with Go through faith in the work of Jesus. 4. You must avoid temptation. Be committed to do all you in your power to avoid temptation, starting with the controls on your computer. 5. You must be accountable to others. You need a community of Christians who are holding you accountable and supporting you in your struggle. I continue to pray for victory for all of you who struggle with porn out there! Porn addiction is quite possibly the most difficult thing to admit to and doing it so publicly will do amazing things for God's kingdom. Just a couple of things... I assume you're sitting down right now at a computer. Do me a favor and turn off other distractions (like putting facebook chats on hold or stopping your music) for a couple of minutes. After that's done, clear your mind, lean back and listen to this... Jesus loves you. Sit there for a minute and let that sink deep into the core of your being. Read it over again a couple times if you have to. Also, Jesus tells us in Luke 4:16-19 that he came down from heaven and appeared here in his earthsuit to 'set captives free.' That's all captives, including you. Jesus is amazing because not only did he come to set captives free, he's also where the broken find healing. Read the bible and you'll see him healing body, mind & spirit. I'd love to chat more.
