Girl Power! Take part in the International Day of the Girl 2017.
For the past five years, Salvation Army girls have joined their voices to others from around the world on October 11. This year, we want to add YOUR voice to help make this year’s celebration the greatest ever!
If you’re aged 13-18, send us your inspirational story! You can use creative writing, video performance, photography, artwork, or song to share your voice and your ideas.
The theme this year is “Injustice for Girls”. Where do you see injustice for girls in Canada & Bermuda? Is anyone fighting this injustice? How do YOU face down injustice in your world?
Create your entry in one of these formats:
- Poetry or monologues (maximum 250 words)
- Video (maximum length of 2 minutes)
- Photographs (jpeg files of at least 500 x 500 pixels)
- Art or graphic design (jpeg files of at least 500 x 500 pixels)
Complete the ‘Consent to Publication Form’
Email both your item, AND the Consent to Publication form to CANBDA Youth no later than September 30, 2017.
We need to hear from girls! Help inspire everyone with your stories of girl power –in art, pictures, poetry, songs, video — to showcase the unique role girls play in our world.
