TAKE A STAND – SIT IN THE DARK
The planet needs you! Last year more than half of the adult Canadian population turned their lights out for Earth Hour. We want to exceed 10 million people this year and send a powerful visual message to lawmakers and manufacturers that Canadians want action on climate change. Are you in?

Maybe you’re thinking, “Naw, why bother. It won’t make a difference.” LAME. We totally disagree with you. It’s about creating awareness and changing laws and manufacturing practices. It’s also about changing individuals minds and attitudes which then affect their choices and behaviours towards healthier living.

DO IT

  • Do it at home.
Do your homework, read or play boardgames by candle light.
  • Do it at school.
Get your homeroom class or school involved and plaster your school with posters.
  • Do it at work.
Get Tim’s or Mc D’s to operate with minimal electricity use. You never know till you try. Last year we know that the Talkin’ Donkey (The Salvation Army) coffee shop in Vernon, BC did it and one of you pitched the idea to Swiss Chalet. You never know till you try!
