Slavery has been abolished all around the world. Yet estimates are that over 20 million people are enslaved today. 20 million is a big number. More people are enslaved today than at any other point in history.

Women, men and children are trafficked for labour in mines, factories, service industries, private homes and on farms. Women, men and children are trafficked for sexual exploitation through prostitution, arranged marriage and pornography. Women, men and children are trafficked as soldiers and guerrilla fighters. Women, men and children are trafficked for their organs.

This year, the Anti-Human-Trafficking Day of Prayer is on Sunday September 27. You can download posters in various languages HERE. Other helpful resources are available via The Salvation Army Ethics Centre and The Salvation Army International Headquarters.

We can’t be silent anymore. Let’s get praying for all those affected by human trafficking!
