Hope for Self-Injurers

Do you have a friend who cuts their body with a sharp object till they bleed? How about someone who holds a hot lighter or burning cigarette against their hand or forearm? This behaviour is commonly referred to as self-injury/self-harm/self-mutilation. While it’s not considered a mental disorder, the majority of adolescents who self-injure meet the [...]

It’s a Conspiracy

Yes, it’s true. There is a conspiracy at work here but it’s not one to get freaked out over, nor is it one where they’re trying to cover it up or keep it a secret. It’s a good conspiracy (that sounds kinda weird when we listen to ourselves say that)! It’s almost Advent time and [...]

My Mood is Out of Order

Comedian & actor Robin Williams entertained, inspired and made us lol in movies like Mrs. Doubtfire, Good Will Hunting, Dead Poet’s Society, Patch Adams, Hook and more. His death by suicide last week came as a surprise as was the revelation that he had been struggling with severe depression.
You might not know this [...]

Life & Death Decisions

Decisions… we all face them. For many of us, we will never face the same life & death decisions that many face around the world today as they are forced to make tough decisions as a refugee fleeing war or persecution.
You can however, step into their story in a sense. A new app has been [...]

My Mental Doesn’t Feel Healthy

Mental health problems often first develop during adolescence or early adulthood, with half of all mental disorders beginning by age 14, and 75 percent beginning by age 24.
