Trafficking Travel Alert

Human trafficking originates in communities and the solution is in communities. The answer to a traffic free community is YOU!

As a person in your community, rise up and take action now to ensure your community is free from human trafficking. Make sure people aren’t trafficked out of, through or into your community! Rally some friends around you. There’s strength in numbers!

ACTIONS TO TAKE

1. TRAVEL SAFE
Traffickers use every form of transport to move men, women and children and force them into situations of exploitation.
Take part in TRAVEL SAFE! So that:

  • transport industry employees
  • travelers
  • vulnerable people

know what trafficking is, the signs to look out for and how to take appropriate action to prevent it.

2. NO ROOM
Around the world hotels, hostels, B&Bs, travel lodges and motels are being used as places where trafficked men, women and children are exploited. Whether it is a young girl being moved around, bought, sold and abused in different hotel rooms or the kitchen staff supplied by an exploitative agency, the hospitality industry needs to know what trafficking is, what the indicators are and what to do if they spot them.

We need to make sure there is NO ROOM FOR TRAFFICKING! in our communities by engaging every hotelier where we live to:

  • use the door hangers on every bedroom
  • train staff to identify trafficking
  • report suspected cases of trafficking
  • educate their guests
